The Hungarian nature photographer Csaba Daróczi was awarded the Nature Photographer of the Year 2019. His winning photo shows two rabbits that jump up high in the air, and it was also awarded the winner of the Black and White category. According to the judges, this photo was chosen because of the “atmosphere, timing, beautiful light, perfect sharpness and composition.”
The photographer said about the photo: Italian photographer Giacomo Redaelli is the winner of the Youth category (11 – 17 years old). His photo shows a nest of Long tailed tits getting fed by their mom. The judges had a tough choice between 14.000 images from over 73 countries, which is a new record for this competition. There are 11 different categories, as well as the Fred Hazelhoff portfolio award, which was awarded to Romanian photographer Gheorghe Popa.
