Perhaps you’re already familiar with NONS and their interesting SLR cameras that use Instax film. The company has just announced the SL645: a camera that lets you shoot Instax Mini film. Like NONS’s other products, it lets you change lenses, so it seems like a perfect match for those who love instant film photography and vintage lenses with equal passion. Alright then, let’s check it out and see what it has to offer.

Previously, NONS launched the medium format SL660 and its very first camera, SL42 (and SL42 Mark II). The SL42 also uses Instax Mini film, so the SL645 is, in a way, its successor. It offers very similar specs, but its design is very different, and it’s powered by a rechargeable battery to avoid the pollution of single-use batteries. another novelty is the roof pentaprism based on SLR viewfinder which gives you the largest viewfinder coverage of all NONS’s cameras.

The NONS SL645 comes in a metal body and it has a native EF mount. As I mentioned, it uses Instax Mini film, but it works like any vintage SLR film camera. SL645 works like a traditional SLR analog camera. You can either rely on full manual control, use the integrated light meter for a quick shot. Here’s the drill:

You can pledge $421 for the “Kickoff offer” or add $10 for the “Super-early bird” once the Kickoff is all out. Check out NONS’s Kickstarter for more details and if you’d like to support the project.
