In an attempt to help those affected by the coronavirus crisis, Sony has established a global relief fund of $100 million USD. The company has issued a statement regarding the fund, saying that it’s aimed to support those around the world affected by the COVID-19 virus. Kenichiro Yoshida, President and CEO, Sony Corporation, said in the statement: According to Sony, there are three major groups who will receive help through this fund....

While there haven’t been too many rumours about this one, the photos and price leak last week pretty much guaranteed that it was coming. And today, Sony has now officially announced the new Sony FE PZ 16-35mm f/4 lens. It seems to be aimed at filmmakers just as much as it is photographers, is super lightweight at only 353g and has a price tag of $. Although the weight is substantially lower than the Sony Vario-Tessar T* FE 16-35mm f/4 ZA OSS lens, and the price has shrunk a bit, too....

Released in September 2017, the original Sony RX0 was a very impressive camera. It offered 4K 4:2:2 video via HDMI, timecode sync for multiple camera setups, could capture 1080p bursts at up to an insane 1,000 frames per second with a 1″ sensor, and it came in a super rugged water, shock and crushproof body. The new RX0 II ups the game with a new 15.3MP 1″ stacked CMOS sensor, internal 4K recording with stabilisation, shutter speeds up to 1/32000 sec, 16 frames per second stills shooting, microphone socket and that 1,000 frames per second thing?...

Luminosity masks are an extremely valuable tool within Photoshop, particularly for landscape photographers who are often dealing with high dynamic range scenes that can leave scenes looking a little uneven. Sure, you can leave it up to semi-automated HDR software to try and pull all that detail out of a raw, but luminosity masks allow you to do it with a very specific level of control. Well, you may not know that Lightroom now has luminosity masks built right in, allowing you to make fine-tuned adjustments to different parts of your image, based solely on their existing brightness level....

According to the source of Nikon Rumors, Tamron is about to announce a new lens. It will be an 18-400mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC HLD, a zoom lens designed for APS-C DSLR bodies. Going from a wide angle to a telephoto zoom, this will be a lens that gives you a variety of possibilities. There are a couple of images of Tamron 18-400mm f/3.5-6.3 leaked on Nikon Rumors, but for now we don’t have more information about the new lens....

A 40-year-old-man who was following women and photographing them was recently freed from all charges despite the fact that he pointed his camera at their breasts and buttocks. According to appeals court judges, what he did wasn’t illegal because it was done in public places. In 2016, David Eric Lambert (40) reportedly followed women around a Dollar Tree, a Hobby Lobby and a Walmart, the New York Times reports. Each time he would point his camera towards their private parts, and court documents state that he also pinched one woman’s buttocks....

There have been lots of devices and methods worked on for taking unwelcome drones out of the sky. There was that stupid eagle programme, shooting them out of the sky, trapping them in nets, signal jamming and signal hijacking. And there have probably been other ways that haven’t been made public. So far, though, I haven’t seen anybody suggest using one drone as a battering ram to literally knock the other drone off balance, causing it to crash (quite literally) to the ground....

Well, it looks like it’s true. The Nikon D500 is officially discontinued. After it was spotted as being out of stock, on backorder or whatever, with Nikon Singapore even having “discontinued” in the URL of their page for the Nikon D500, there hadn’t yet been any word from Nikon HQ in Japan.
